    Paphiopedilum villosum

As refer to the guy there, this orchid species is critical to extinction in Thailand. So they have to propagate them & put them back to the wild forest. It's mostly found on Northern Thailand mountain forest, Doi Inthanon (the highest peak in Thailand, though it's not that high compared to other countries peaks, but still high enough to have nearly 0 C and lower than 10 C in winter, this is considered freezing for many people here.) We went up there to take some photo shots of what so called the "Sakura" of Thailand, all the pink tiny flowers on the whole tree. These orchids pictures are my bonus of the trip.

Oops, I thought I responded to this beautiful slipper orchid photo when I moved them to this section of the board. Guess I forgot to hit post reply. Anyway, it is a great slipper bloom. Paphiopedilum villosum is one I wish I owned.

    cheers,
    BD

    Hi Bruce!
Once I hit the reply button & everything is gone, I thought I've lost them. So now I'll start to post pictures on different areas of each species then.
Nice to know that you like them. I think you should already have a huge amount of Paph! I'll try to look & keep an eye on your collections, too. ^_^
I just find out that I need sometime to get familiar with the forum.
There are SO many threads here, hope I will not get lost, haha.

Bye for now & talk to you again soon!
    Lynn

because i really like the way it shows the flower, not like the other paph the the bloom spike stood tall the upright, that one shows gratitude.

Both characteristics are beautiful, they have their own identity : )
