Default Paph. Golden Chalice x Paph. Pittsburg

My first venture into standard-complex paphs. Not registered yet, no awards. I've seen bigger blooms, but not with this kind of coloration - there's a lot more red in this than I first thought, but it's subtle. It's also not yet completely open, so the side petals will uncurl more, as will the dorsal sepal, in a bit. (Also from last week's slipper nursery visit.)

It's gone into semi-hydro, for better or for worse - Day 4 and it seems to be handling it okay. If anyone has any advice about any differences in cultivating standard-complex paphs vs. Maudiae-types, I'd be happy to get it.

    Thanks -

    Maura

Considering the names of the parents, if this cross should ever get registered, it should be called something like "Steelers" or "Superbowl". heh

I am jealous that you have a such nice nursery nearby to visit! ;-) Not much in the way of orchid nurseries here.
