Yesterday from my trip, my friend showed me this million dollar orchid from southern Philippines.
Out of hundreds of specimens in the wild, this is the only plant which is very different, rare and expensive.
This is the first time in history to see natural white variegated Paphiopedilum adductum from the wild.
Enjoy.

What a cool looking slipper orchid plant. Is this now your plant - or will you be able to photo it when in bloom? Would love to see it blooming too. It is my understanding that these variegated orchids are difficult to bloom.
Cheers,
BD![]()

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box!! OrchidTalk is a world community. Celebrate our Diversity!

I would sure hate to kill it!!
If I were you I will take it very rare and a lowland plant definitely can bloom under your care, love the leaves.
Last time I posted my variegated Vandopsis lissichilioides, it came from the same location.
Unfortunately, the orchid is not mine and its from my good friend who have many wild orchids.:
@ BD - It is very true that most variegated plants are difficult to bloom. Hope I can post the entire inflorescence later.
@ Zainal - If I were the owner, I will do what you suggested.

Beautiful even if it doesn't bloom. If I had a million dollar orchid there would definately be a funeral and it wouldn't be the orchid's. Someone in my house would kill me and then most likely tru to sell it for 2 million. LOL I do love variegated plants. Thank you for sharing something that I will most likely never see in person.

I suggest the owner sell it to Japan. People would pay heaps for an 'oddity' like that and he can live on the earnings for a very very long time..![]()
Its certainly nice, but i still dont get the "craze" over it.
ciao,
ron
let the economy go down the drain, but please dont touch my orchids
I am also very curious to see the flower of this plant. The plant looks beautiful.
Generally speaking I am also very fond of variegated plants and I am in the fortunate position that I have a variegated Paph insigne with very nice blooms. The flowers are yellowish in colour with not a single dark spot. I hope it will flower again for me this year and will post when it does so.
