It's funny - I posted about this Phrag. a year ago, I think, and the thread has been revived. I'm glad, because it's an awesome "droopy drawers" specimen - very striking when it gets even larger, and all the more interesting because there's no besseae in it to give it that brilliant shot of red - that's all from the sargentianum, which keeps the shape of the phrag intact, and doesn't threaten the length of the petals. All in all a successful hybrid, I think.

Wow...what a great looking phrag!! I'm more into paphs, and your "droopy drawers" phrag reminds me of some of the paphs I've seen and considered buying. The crown jewel of my paph collection is my Sanderianum, which is still a relatively small plant because the blooming ones are ridiculously expensive! But when it blooms, now I won't be able to resist calling it my "droopy drawers" orchid!!

Anything with twisty petals is a winner in my book, but the colors on this one are really stunning! Love it!

I hang my head in shame - 35 slippers and not even one phrag; and not for want of trying.

my home runs are sadly infrequent, just ask my mom! i was home last year for 2 weeks and i was hoping to make a bit more of a habit of going home... got to keep an eye on the folks, they are 'doers' that are slowly coming to terms with the fact that time takes its toll and you cant keep doing 110% all the time... jeffrey and i just opened a small cinnamon roll store here that we will hopefully expand into a gumbo shop in the future... so between being a fulltime teacher and now baker... i dont see any trips home for a while... booo! i would love to come see you in hotlanta! i do love old central... the jazz in the park and candle light dinner concerts!!! ive got some good fond memories!!

Well those are some darn good reasons, but I'll bet your folks still miss you like crazy. And you can come visit me any time, wherever I end up - Atlanta for the next few months and then.... Maine summers and Puerto Rico winters???? I can dream, can't I?
