Default UFO Paph orchid identification help

Can anyone help on an ID? The grower never got back to me. It may be a complex hybrid, but I'd at least like to know that much
    Thanks in advance!

Spoke too soon!! Just checked my email after posting this and got an answer! The parents are: Paph. Jolly Green Gem X (Royal Flush x Amarillo), I don't know if that means this hasn't been named or what...but it's nice to know the parentage

Hi, Ali - yes, that's a complex paph, and when I have a minute, I'll Owiz it for you and get back to you with the specifics, okay?

Hi Ali - I researched your paph on OWiz and found out that the second hybrid still isn't registered, so your tag is correct as it is. I wish I knew how to attach an OWiz page through my mac onto OT, but I don't - what I can tell you is that the majority of this paph is Paph. insigne, with a lot of spicerianum as the secondary influence. It also has some villosum and some boxalii. The actual genealogy of all the parents in you paph goes back generations - more than 6, at least, before it reaches the species. None of the three parents show yellow - mostly green and a dusty rosish color - so it's interesting that you picked up such a clear yellow version - many possible reasons for that, but I can't name them all. Hope this helps, at least for the sake of curiosity! It's always fun for me.

Does orchidwiz work with Mac ? I thought I had read somewhere that it doesn't - or am I confusing something about Wildcatt ?
I am interested as I now have an iPad (how did I ever do without ? ) so I am perforce using Mac. But I have not attempted to put Orchidwiz on it - not that t would be simple anyway, even if possible.

Aaahhh - an excellent question. The short answer is yes, one can use OrchidWiz on a Mac. How one accomplishes that is a tad more complex. I have a Macbook Pro, and went through the following steps to get OWiz up and running on it. 1) I bought and installed a software program called "Parallels", which "created" a second "virtual machine" (like having another computer running on it) on my Mac. (I downloaded the program from the internet site.) 2) I then bought and installed Windows 7 on that "virtual machine". 3) I then bought and installed Orchidwiz on Windows 7. So, now I have one piece of hardware - namely, the Macbook, but essentially two computers - a Mac and a pc. The pc part can run programs that, for now, anyway, only run on Windows. See - not so easy and not so cheap, but entirely possible!

Thanks for the info Maura! Definitely fulfilled some of my curiosity It's interesting to know that the yellow is odd for this mix. I did try googling the parents to see what they look like and I also found majorly green flowers, and some white. Thanks again!!
