Default Cypripedium parviflorum - native (wild) N.Am. orchid

In introducing myself here, I mentioned my passion for Native American (wild) orchids. Here are some pictures of "Lessor Yellow Lady's Slipper" (Cypripedium parviflorum) that grow wild in my "backyard", which is three acres of deciduous forest. The "Showy Yellow Lady's Slipper" is more well known and admired - it is a real eye-popper. But, I treasure the lessor for it's more modest, and - to me - intricate beauty.

So very beautiful, the orchid and your photos. I'm waiting now for our Cypripedium calceolus to start flowering, next month I think it wil show in all its beauty.

Thank You, Y'All! - I apologize for the repeat photos, my bad, there are actually only 3 pictures, somehow I turned them into 7 - obviously, I need to work on my uploading!

(Off Topic - Paph, I notice you are from Slovenia? My grandparents are from Travnik (Cerkno) and Hrib–Loški Potok. Now, THEY were some flower gardeners - that's where I got my love of flowers....)

Wow, I am seriously jealous. I would love to see that in the wild, let alone in my backyard!
