    Default Phrag. mont fallu

Here is the first blooming of my mont fallu that I received last year. I think that it is a nice shape although I am hoping that the petals will grow longer as time progresses.

Thanks Bruce. This is the one you told me to move nearer to the light if it hadn't bloomed before. I did and it bloomed so thanks alot for that.

Thanks again. I was waiting for the petals to get longer but I could wait no more. If and when they do get really long I shall post them on here. Now I have to wait for all of the other ones that I have since bought to bloom.

Be sure to keep elevating the pot. If the petals touch a surface, they will stop growing. Once they reach a surface, the ants/bugs that pollinate the flower can get onboard so the flower stops growing.

Yeah I have staked it up now so it is some distance from anything that might impeed it's growth. I am just so happy that it bloomed for me. I have a Bouley Bay a Paul Eugene Conroy and a Tall Tails all waiting to get big enough to bloom. Hopefully it will be this year but I think that I might have to be patient for a bit longer yet.

Lovely flowers and great snaps !! I did not know about the growth of the lateral petals was influenced by contact, and people say, plants cannot feel touch !!

Plants can feel everything can't they? They know what the temp is -well within a few degrees anyway- the can tell if the sun is on them they can feel hungry and everything else too. I love plants
