The real McCoy. Doesn't get much better than this - unless I cut off the 2nd bud ( visible behind the flower ) in which case the flower might be 2 cm larger. Super foliage ; in the British Paph Society meetings, there is always one competitive class for best foliage ; Claire de Lune never actually wins, lovely though it is , although the ones which do win do not have quite such classically perfect flowers.
Not an easy plant to find and buy ; not a cheap plant when you have found it. Growing well in conventional mix - this has a couple of growths which might both be FS next year, as well as three other smaller growths , so I am rather reluctant to disturb it and put in S/H... but.....maybe it would grow better if I did ?

It is interesting how I see so much in orchids, each is so different from the next. The colors are wonderful. The whole plant is beautiful.

Beautiful Geoff! Claire de Lune is next on my wish list. I have seen quite a few for sale in Germany. I will have to get one one day.

Oh, that's beautiful!! It reminds me of my Paph Heron's Faire... but with better form and WAY nicer foliage by far. I'd give yours the foliage award if it was my decision! Gorgeous, gorgeous bloom, Geoff! Definitely one to be proud of!

That's a fantastic flower even for a clone of this quality. Obviously very well grown, and those leaves are perfect.

Truly a classic, but... there's no e in Clair.
