Otherwise known as Paph villosum var annamense - from the place where found. I prefer to call it a distinct species, since it is so distinctly6 coloured, and is also different in being rather smaller in all parts, than the type species ( properly known as P.villosum var villosum).
A lovely paph.
Beautiful paph love the waxy on the petals.
Oh Geoff, this one is gorgeous, all waxy and covered in beauty spots like Madame de Pompadour at a ball
. In the hotels, and have on the dinner table on the cruise p, are called Mme Pompadour (type) ? They are not spotted at all...
But I do agree that the Regency period ladies with their great ball gowns, and hairdo's 3 feet high did wear little black patches. I wonder how they could imagine that they improved their looks ?
Stunning slipper orchid! Love the shape and color!
Wonderful, clear colors and markings. The depth of yellows and magentas is truly stunning. And there we are in the taxonomy section of Hades - I wonder if which of Dante's Circles that would qualify for? (Taxonomists, I mean, not those of us who struggle with their vicissitudes).
Beautiful orchid and a great photograph.
