All the credit for this lovely young phrag. goes to a new best friend of mine, Mr. Brand, who allowed another member of the Naples Orchid Society to use it as part of her display. This Don Wimber is particularly pretty since the Phrag. besseae used was the flava (yellow) form. I photographed it on the last day of the show (with his permission), so it had seen its more vibrant days by then, but still....

By the way, Mr. Brand grows his phrags under shaded conditions in his pool enclosure at his home on the Florida Gulf Coast, so he's inspired me to think there must be a way to keep them cool and moist enough outside in fairly warm weather so that they will at least survive. I'm missing my Phrag. collection. Hmmmm....
