The cross is haynaldianum x phillipinensis. My plant is from a flask I bought a few years ago , from which I raised maybe a dozen plants. Several have produced spikes in the past two or three years, but which aborted - a thing which happens if the plant is not strong enough. So this is the first flower I have seen. I note that of the 35 or so awards mentioned in Orchidwiz, the average flower count is about 5 . I may get 2 here - but it is a first flowering. These large multifloral paphs need patience - taking longer to mature than most other paphs.
The natural span is about 7 1/2 inches for this flower.

I like this cross and it's the first one I've seen. The colours are unusual but to my mind match the shape of the flower. You must have an abundance of patience Geoff but there again without it how can you raise from flask?

    Well done
