Kept media moist all the time. Something I have been using just recently is Superthrive and as cheesy as it sounds, it does what it says on the tin. The orchid that showed instant response to it is the good old phal. My laelia tenebrosa had all rotten roots but its a different story now. Also, my psychopsis mariposa, every time it put out a bud it blasted prematurely, but now its just days off to bloom.
I traded a couple of my orchids for prags and they are in oyster shell mix. One plant is putting one new sprout. The person said she could never get it to bloom. I ca not find picture on the net for these names: Phrag. Court jester (boisserianum) x caudatum 'Cuzco Green'...and Phrag Eric Young 'Mont Millais' AM/BHS x Phrag. sargentianum 'Red'.

I am using Super Thrive in my fertilizer water, 1 drop per gallon.

A great plant you have there Gurj. Beautifully shown in all it's stages of development
and very well photographed. My phrags do well on 24/7 watering including caudatum which is supposed to be one of the drier specie.
    Well done again

Well done Gurj. I see that you have three blooms, good growing!! I am now pretty sure that mine is indeed in low spike. They do take ages to grow don't they? I shall post my bloom pics in maybe four or five months then

Hi Susie! hope you're doing well. It has been indeed a looonnng wait to see the slippers open, and I am happy with the result.

Hi again! I am a bit more generous with Superthrive. I have a 30ml bottle and use its cap-ful for one gallon.

Wow! I had heard that more than 1 drop per gallon would kill the orchid! I guess i am going to have to experiment on an orchid that is not important and needing help!

Once that goes out of bloom, it would be an excellent candidate for semi-hydroponics.
