    Default Paph philippinense

I've been a bad orchid dad for the last 9 months - having built up First Rays to a full-time gig while otherwise "retired", and then adding a full-time job on top of it last fall has left me with little time to do what's needed with my plants. Despite almost losing it to neglect, this Paph. philippinense rewarded me with two blossoms this spring. It is coming back, but I'll need to baby it for a while.

At this time, the flowers have been open almost two months, and you can see the upper one is starting to go.

Beautiful. Very pretty, long, twisty lateral petals. I notice that your philippinense has very unique 'split' synsepalum - all the ones I have seen, including my own, have the 'normal' fused synsepalum. The split synsepalum does impart a more attractive and balanced form to the blooms.
