This time it has three flowers. Two opened right now and a bud just about to open. Enjoy!

Not wanting to show my ignorance I have never asked anyone. But, how can I learn to identify the the different part of the orchids. ie what is a staminode, dorsal etc.

Come on all of you enlighten me!!

    Hi Katie,

Good for you for asking! Here's a great article that covers a breadth of intro topics. Keep in mind that some orchid parts are referred to with mutliple names. That can make it a bit confusing as well.

Keep asking about anything that makes you curious. That's the only way we learn! And if your asking the question, you can bet that someone else has thought and didn't step up and ask it!

This guy has some major growing to do before he can be divided. He is just a baby in a four inch pot.
