    Default Paph. American Beauty

I made the mistake thinking I could just go by the orchid nursery and buy a few pots and a few hangers to hang pots from. But no, I did end up with this paph. too. It is my first 'black' colored orchid. The first picture looks more like it than it does with the flash in the second picture that brings out the colors.

There is another bud tucked behind the open flower. And I like the foliage as well.

I would have bought it too Harvey. I just made an order for 5 phals online, on seeing a 20% discount on all orchids, as a Christmas gift for myself. I ordered 3 phal Sogo yukidian v3, 1 sin yuan golden beauty, and 1 dtps pride of ben Yu, and 3 epidendrums, I'm expecting them this week and I'm so excited!!!

I rescued a peach colored with a pink-edged, red lip phal yesterday from grocery store. It was in really nice condition but the buds blasted on it. I may try to re-bloom the spike. I will give a few more days to see if the last bud opens. It doesn't look blasted like the others.

With the ones on order, I am up to 45 already. And now I have them hanging in the living room over the orchids on stands and tables. There is a paph I want to buy once the quarterly 'bucks' are issued in early Jan.

Harvey, one day you'll end up building a greenhouse like most of us, cos you just CAN'T stop buying orchids.

I would have to move. And I don't expect to do that. I am in a condo. No green house.

Maybe another 4'x4' in the second bedroom perhaps.
