This is remake of a 19th Century primary hybrid. The cross is Paph barbatum x villosum and the flower is large measuring 4 inches across. The influence of the barbatum is very apparent in the dorsal sepal and the lateral petals show very strong villosum influence. The bloom has a waxy texture and good substance. This bloom is already a month old. There are no barbatum warts but the mottled leaves are very barbatum like.
Very nice slipper orchid. I don 't have any in bloom right now. Perhaps I should buy one.
