    Cool Paph fairrieanum

I bought this in bloom in December 2013. It has now come into bloom again.

I took this image on my way out the door this morning. It's not quite perfect as there is a brown spot that developed on the bud that is seen at the apex of the dorsal.

But still happy with this bloom. The growth it came from is quite pretty and perfect. Not a scratch or ding or brown spot on it. I think it can bloom again this season as the next growth is growing nicely in size and number of leaves.

    Great bloom!
I have a fairianum in bud for the for the first time and the bud is tiny: according to my sellers the plant should have grown to blooming size in one year from now. Does anyone know the size of the bloom I can expect??

Mine is about 3-4 inches tall about 1.5-2 inches wide. It will be on a spike up to 18 inches tall.

I thought the same thing before this flower opened but I was surprised! I didn't think there was a chance of it being the size the flower it had when delivered last December. But it did get the size of the original flower.

How tall is your spike now? It really will not open until it is 15 to 18 inches tall. If it isn't that tall yet, then there is still plenty of time remaining before it opens to increase in size.
