Okay, this is my first Paph to bloom. I know it is not as elaborate as some of the ones I have seen on the forum. The picture does not show hairs that line the petals. I was so excited to take a picture I may have to show more later should I take a better one. Sorry can't get rid of second image.
very nice Paph-wish mine would rebloom.thx for the share.
wow. looks awesome. was looking for this one in local nursery but could not get one
Lovely paph and one which loves warm humid conditions --- and average light levels.
A lovely paph - nice photo too.
Nice one Monica.
(Slipping into "professor mode") It is a species, so the specific name, sukhakulii, is not capitalized.
I thought "name" and "epithet" were synonymous. Sorry for my faux pas.
Synonymous, yes, but part of the cultural divide between botanists and zoologists in my experience. Most botanists would probably let it slide, mellow types usually. Few zoologists would let you get away with epithet without some snide comment about botany though, humorless tight-a**** except for paleontologists. As someone with botanical background but not as mellow as most I had to stand up for my side.
