    Default Paphiopedilum purpuratum

    Paphiopedilum purpuratum
The species is native to southern China and northern Vietnam.
Because of the indiscriminate collection, deforestation and excessive human activity, the species was included in the IUCN Red List, International Union for Conservation of Nature as a very high risk of extinction in the wild in the near future.
Deflascato for about six years, last year the first flowering, but I preferred to stop in order to strengthen the plant, are now convinced of the choice.
Last bloom, but not yet fully open, the cultivation in moderate shade, fertilization ˝ strength, 150 ppm, is not calcicola, high humidity 60% -80%.

Beautiful! This would be a very good one if the dorsal sepal doesn't reflex, which is a common characteristic for purpuratum.

I would grow that one for the foliage alone. A bonus would be the beautiful color of the bloom!
