    Default heavily-warted vini PHOTO

I rarely buy orchids already in bloom but I couldn't resist the warts on this vini (which reflects the famous and aptly-named Macabre as one of its grandparents). found out when I got it that it was pretty good size for a first-bloom, a full 5" across. flower a little "off-kilter" because it actually has a 2nd bud pushing from behind. hopefully it's genetic and not a one-time thing.

    Great color, and incredible warting!

I think the ideal orchid collection has just enough vinis so that one is always in bloom. Short of that, we'll just have to enjoy your photos, Jason!

    Default more vini paphs...

I can't seem resist buying unbloomed seedlings of these beauties...
and here is a couple that I bought last year as unbloomed...
and I'm very pleased at how they turned out...
the first one is... Paph Hsinying Maru (x sib)...
and the second one is... Paph____ (Raisin Eyes x Cyberspace)...
#2 has a heavy amount of 'warting' on the petals also...
I used the sun to back-light these... to show the depth of color...
    Regards... Scotty.

Wow! Very different looks between them, Scotty, but both lovely vinis!

One can never have too many vinis!

Scotty, that Paph Hsinying Maru is AWESOME!!! Both of the dorsal are suer saturated! However, I'm not really a fan of the heavy black warts... still, for that dorsal alone, i'd probably put up with it!

    love those backlit photos!

In fact, I'll add one, but with normal @$&@&@ incandescent lighting.

Black Currants x superbiens. this one is a borderline vini, not hellishly dark, more of a "peacock" type. superbiens seems to have widened the petals significantly but the dorsal is relatively undersized, and a little hooded.
