This is a discussion on Phrag. warscewiczianum PHOTOS within the Paphiopedilum, Phragmipedium, Cypripedium IN BLOOM forums, part of the Orchid Photography category; I have to say that this picture of Jason's warscewiczianum is about my all time ...
I have to say that this picture of Jason's warscewiczianum is about my all time favorite photo on here. It is really a fabulous shot of a fabulous plant!
And I am so grateful for copy/paste so I don't have to type out warscewiczianum. warscewiczianum warscewiczianum warscewiczianum
So easy! :-)
Bruce, I don't believe the movement to rename it popowii has caught on yet. I hope it will never catch on because then what is wallisii would be warscewiczianum, and that would be a darn shame, not to mention a bloody mess. In my book it will always be warscewiczianum, if for no other reason than the fact that this was the accepted name for a century. I don't know Popow personally and don't have anything against him, but personally I believe the undisputed king of phrags would be better served with a name reflecting the history behind its discovery (and that of other orchids).
Thanks Jason. I just wanted to make sure before printing the name.
