you are all getting very close! the first hint was that it is not a common cross; it is named, but not frequently offered for sale. for the next hint, you must look at the petals and their unique "bow-legged" bend. only a few coryo species can contribute to that!

well we have a winner! (or three). in rapid succession, Diane, Hoa, and Julie all came up with the answer...Paph. David Ott (rothschildianum x supardii).

The "ragged" petals of supardii turn the petals into these curious downswept things with a 'bow-legged' pattern almost like pure stonei...

You will notice that the flowers, aside from the petals, are VERY reminiscent of pure rothschildianum. In fact, supardii is probably roths' closest relative, with similar dorsals, pouch, and patterning! (except for the strange petals)

    Thanks to all for guessing!

    Tim-O,

Don't go and sulk, as I've done...

They're children and can't wait to start on the next bright shiny object. Besides, Jason pulled a toughy on us here, which was what we've been asking for. He was great at leading us along, so I'm sure you would have been right in it...

...even after they started without us!!!

I think we need a "ready, set, go!" next time. That starts when I'm ready.

Geepers, Jason - the cat's out of the bag.... now they know you used your super psychic powers to figure out when Julie would be working and Timmie would be sleeping (or whatever ).

some people are just soooo hard to please...
