    Default Paphiopedilum rothschildianum

Last moth I went to one of the nursery in Cameron Highland to my surprise I saw a lot of P roth in blooms with different character and shape of the wing I was shock for a while and slowly took a photos. Some of them the pouch really so red like a pepper but the character is not that great. You can see the photos below.

Out of 8 plants in bloomed I choose one for the flat wing with the diameter 29 cm from Right to Left. I like it so much.

Very nice! A plant like the one you chose would be expensive here.

I don't grow paphs seriously now , although I held ( owned and grew) the UK National Collection for many years up to about '05. At that time , the best 'roths in UK ( and as far as i know in the world) were two FCC varieties - one was 'Commander\; , and I forget the other. They had flowers up to about 25cm. Of course they can be grown better and no doubt bigger in your part of the world Zain, and times have moved on , but 29cm is still wonderful growing.
but what about flower count ? The best I ever achieved was 5 , but the top growers like Eric Young Foundation occasionally got 6.
But what an acquisition - it would certainly sell for say US$500 or more in Uk ( but not to me.... )

Yup Robb and here they called this orchid as Sumazau dance as it's a traditonal dance for the Kadazan Dusun in Sabah.
