    Default Paph dianthum

It has no label when I bought it, the only thing the vendor told me was it came from China. Because of its broad and thick leaves I was secretly hoping its a P hangianum.......ah well, so much for my hope....its cute though

Its been opened for only 2 days when the pic was taken. Maybe the petals will twist and grow longer later on.

Neat, Tanya! Nice one. You don't see this species often. Most species with twisty leaves open flat and rather unimpressive. Give it a few more days. It should start corkscrewing about now. The dorsal will also likely reflex backward. Please post pictures as it progresses so we can follow it!

This was first thought to be a var. of Paph. parishii, but was later named its own species. It's apparently widely cultivated in China. Like parishii it's multi-floral, with two-five flowers on a spike.

    There...a lot of Paph factoids!

    Gorgeous Tanya (hi Tanya!)
Mine is in double spike and I hope it is half as nice as yours. An excellent species to grow (and quite easy, I have found, not as easy to find, however!)

Very true about this plant being hard to come by... very rarely seen around this part of the world... though it should be more so if it is one of the 'easy' growers...

just checked I have got one of these... but I can't even remember where in the collection it is... eeep!

Anyways, lovely of you to share your flower with us Tanya.

The flowers as of today, they have been fully opened for several days now. I am considering of cutting off the spike and put it in water, reason is the plant is showing some tiredness. Maybe its just a humidity proble...
