It looks like the flower is the size of a chair on a regular sized paph plant. How does it find the strenght to hold that flower up? If it really is real, wow!!!!!
No tricks...it is real. The macro photo probably does make it seem bigger..kinda like the close ups of faces where the nose looks huge ! ;-) but it is a BIG bloom. here are more pics taken today...the bloom has a bruise on it now from being hit with another paph leaf...I find these blooms bruise easily.

Last summer I bloomed a Parvi hybrid that had brown on its pouch. I don't think it was bruising - I had burned the heck out of the leaves with too much fertilizer (I learned the hard way that Parvis are very fert intolerant) so I assumed it was a fert burn on the flower.

Interesting Julie..but my leaves do not have any fertilizer "burn". I took this to show & tell and it did this after being crammed in the box with "neighbors".

I'm sure yours was bruising, Gilda. It just looked so similar to mine, and mine didn't get dinged at all. I just thought it was interesting to catalog what can cause that kind of browning on a flower. I don't know for certain mine was fert burn, but the leaves were having such a time with it right then, and the bloom opened with the browning, so that was an easy guess.
