    Default Paphiopedilum Aspersum

    Paphiopedilum x aspersum recorded of recent. Dr. L. To. Averyanov has described this new species, in Komarovia (2002) 2:17 - 18O. And' be found in the Vietnam of the north to 1000-1100 m. And' considered a natural hybrid between Paphiopedilum barbigerum var. lockianum and Paphiopedilum henryanum.

    interesting and very beautiful cute Paph.

    I can foresee another taxonomic nightmare in this group... this Paph reminds me so much of Paph helenae...

    This looks to be a typical Paph. helenae... these are actually quite common in their localities...

    Very nice flower and plant, nonetheless!

    I agree it looks like a paph helenae. The only pic of Paph Aspersum I found shows a small flower as well. It had a dorsal sepal with a similar shape to yours, but with spotting. I don't think paph helenae has so many curls in the dorsal sepal.

    I found another picture of Paphiopedilum x Aspersum and it looks exactly like yours. Its found at: http://www.orchids.it/2006/10/03/pap...um-x-aspersum/ Too bad its not english. I guess the flowers vary a little.

    I don't see any henryanum influence at all, I agree that it looks like helenae.
