    Default Druid Spring

Something a little different this time. While arranging for the group purchase I requested a couple of yellows and they complied. This is one of them.

Very striking, Steven! I haven't seen this hybrid before. Is it more yellow or green? There's a bit of variation between your two photos.

The greenish color is how it initially comes out as shown in the lower flower in the second picture. The yellow really comes out as it peaks.

How do I keep it? Well, it was in bloom or spike when I got it. I initially kept it on a bakers rack with glass shelves in an East facing window. I now keep it in a small melamine vivarium that I used to keep my leopard geckos in. There are two 24" florescents towards the front and I keep the paphs towards the back. I have another one of these that I will be setting up with four 24" tubes.

I was watering every two days or so during the summer. Now I am going about once a week. Fertilizer once or twice a month, very diluted.

I am still learning though. My biggest problem so far has been a mild outbreak of mealies that I am trying to control with alchohol and Schultz Insect Spray.
