    Default Phrag. besseae (#1)

This is a picture of my best Phrag. besseae. Has great coloration, roundness, and size. This one has a spread of only 7.3cm though...

The Petal on the right was still opening some, needed a few more hours to be completely flat...

That is a beautiful, beautiful besseae Pat. Scintillating red, just in time for Christmas! By the way Pat, have you ever told us what the bloom in your avatar is? I wonder every time I see it.

The pictured orchid is Epidendrum pseudonocturnum, a species native to Ecuador. It is similar to Epi. nocturnum, but the major noticable differences are the very large canes and larger flowers... if you or anyone else are interested, I have some pods of this guy I need to start giving away...

How perfect for the Chrismas season! I love all the red phrags...they are just so different for a slipper orchid.
