    Default Paph Angel's Flight

This is a cross between Paph philippinense var. alba x Paph Alma Gevaert (a classic alba Maudiae type). This is it's first blooming, so hopefully it will sort itself out next time. The V-neck sweater look isn't really doing it for me!

I am sure it will do better with future bloomings. Looks ike it recieved some mechanical damage while in bud

Well, the colors are beautiful! MMmmmm.... maybe it's not done yet. Just put a little turtle neck on under that sweater and no one will know.

potential potential potential... I'm loving that dorsal so, the anomaly with the pouch will no doubt sort itself out next time and then 'wham', talk about a knockout beauty!

the stripes and the color is good but it looks a bit deflated, maybe you need to stuff it.

I agree with Ron, it looks like there was some slight damage to the bud. But who can resist those fresh clean colors?

That's what another orchid buddy is saying, embryonic damage when the bud was forming. She called it a "mechanical" deformity, and tutored that it's not the same as a peloric flower, which is more a genetic thing with the petals.

The petal stance isn't what I was expecting. The vendor had a photo with nearly horizontal petals. They looked like airplane wings. That would have been neat, but I think this is prettier. It gets more of the philippinense's petals.

There was a second bud for a second or two. It aborted very early. The plant is two full-sized growths and healthy, so we'll see what next year brings. I'll stop knocking it around!

Must have left that salad shooter thingy too close again. I still think the turtle neck (or maybe a dickie) would work. But what do I know.

they really should shut that nuclear reactor nearby, you know... it's obviously causing havoc... not to mention the deformity on the plants...
