    Default Paphiopedilum kolopakingii f. ALBUM

This is the ultimate Paphiopedilum... if I recall, there is only ONE known plant of an albino Paphiopedilum kolopakingii, and it is not in the US... this is the first time blooming, and it is a little wack but good flowers are at the end of the spike, and next season it will definitely have better formed flowers (always works that way )... here's the rare albino form, I'll post new pictures when the flowers open up fully:

You know..I actually like the greenies and the presentation of the flowers. The way they are krinkled reminds me of D. spectabile.

I might like these more if I had a multifloral...Hmm..(checks windowsill space)...

Whether or not that is the "Ultimate Paph" is subject to personal preferences... That it might be one of the rarest is not in doubt.
All that aside, I too, like the krinkly blooms...

Thanks! Right now, the petals are a little twisted up since it is just opening... the flowers rotate slightly JUST to let the petals hang out... it does resemble a Den. spectabile though...

You will need about 3 feet of space for this very large species...

Wow, wow, wow! I didn't know there was an album kolo! That is
    very unusual, Pat!

It's crinkly, but floriferous. I'm sure the flowers will sort out a bit more as they open. Really nice!

Thanks! Most don't know about an albino Paph. kolopakingii, because there was only one known plant I'm sure, as you said, that the flowers will sort out a little more as they open and mature...

My Bel Royal has a 28" spread right now.

Pat, is someone sending you these pictures or is this a second one that you are showing?
