it can be, ron, much like the stonei parent--some are "relatively" fast growing and bloom alright, while others just sit there. the hybrids aren't as bad but I had an isabel a while ago that just sat there for 5 years at a constant 12" LS, without any improvement. one would presume that the newer crosses are more vigorous and floriferous though.

Jason, that is a problem with many older roth primaries. Some just never bloom but not all have been remade with better blooming parents.

My Lady Isabel is a huge plant, in a 10" pot, but blooms only when it feels like it, which is about once every 3 or 4 years!

Perhaps I should divide it and give it a shock. It is growing in a couple of directions..

    Gorgeous!

After seeing some of the EYOF Lady Isabels at Chelsea Flower Show this May I've been obsessed with this plant. Needless to say I can't actually find one anywhere after missing a chance to buy one at a this summer show. Pah!
