This is a discussion on Paph niveum and painting within the Paphiopedilum, Phragmipedium, Cypripedium IN BLOOM forums, part of the Orchid Photography category; ...
First blooming on this Paph niveum x sib (‘Full Moon’ x ‘Jumbo Snow Ball’).
I had to try out painting too. I haven't painted for years and this is my first time using canvas. I think the writing on the bottom is a bit too large; it's hard writing with a paintbrush.
That's pretty cool Fren. Good job.
Nice representation, Fren. Very talented.
Hey, Bravo Fren!
Excellent, keep up the good work!
I think it's beautiful, Fren (the orchid and the painting). Good job!
Don't they say that "Immitation is the Greatest form of Flattery"?!! Rock On !, J
Way to go Fren! I love the way you captured how the blooms glow against a dark background, and how you captured their delicacy. The highlights on the leaves and roots are very nice as well. I love the orchid, of course, but your painting is especially nice and we expect to see more!
Your painting is really lovely -- so is the actual paph too.
