Default bellatulum 'Standing Tall' x 'Red on Red'

This one was in VERY low sheath when I got it a few weeks ago. I have been anxiously watching it as it has developed since a niveum I got this year blasted a couple of days after it arrive. The niveum was in advanced bud and ready to start opening though.

Renee calls these Tiggerrr flowers because the pouch reminds her of the 'Winnie the Pooh' character.

    Just a peek today....

I lov anything with bellatulum in it. Funny to see the pendulous spike considering the 'Standing Tall' bit

wonder if the yellow will stay yellowish or, more typically, fade to the usual white?

I will be taking updated pictures of this flower tomorrow and we will see then. I can't remember under what conditions I took the picture above and am wondering if the lighting might not have contributed to the yellowish color.

I had one that definitely opened up yellowish and faded to the usual white. some strains now are being advertised as having a persistent yellowish color, although I haven't seen enough of the results to comment as to how successful they are.

I have one of the "yellow" cultivars: Paph bellatulum 'Yellow Bird' x 'Yellow Sunset'. I think it is in VERY low bud, but I am not certain and it is moving deathly slow if it is.

I did not take a picture yet, but the background of the bellatulum of this thread is for sure a white color now. I am still not sure if the lighting or white balance of the camera affected the initial yellowish color.
