I love seeing these. The pouch is so dark and large. Bravo!

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .

The flowers during warmer months are not as deep in color. This plant has been in bloom since early Sept, on 2 spikes.

very very nice pouch! I love how the colour is so much darker because of the cooler weather!

must be from those anthocyanin pigments, which reportedly are produced much more readily in cool weather and/or high light. probably why a given cultivar of besseae will tend to be significantly darker during a winter blooming rather than a summer one.
