    Talking Paph. Shadow Magic

This is my Paph. Shadow Magic. I picked it up at my local society's auction back in Sept. I kept it outside until it started getting cold, then brought it inside. Within a month of bringing it home, it started a flower bud, and it finally bloomed two days before New Years. I don't know what the parents of the cross were, and haven't had much luck figuring it out. So, if anyone could help me, I would love to know it's parents all the way back to species.

Paph Shadow Magic is (Paph Via Quatal x Paph Voodoo Magic), the latter being a well known vinicolored Paph.

Via Quatal is a third generation cross and Voodoo Magic is 5th generation. The species composition of Shadow Magic is:

    37.5% callosum
    25% lawrenceanum
    12.5% curtisii
    12.5% mastersianum
    6.3% pupuratum
    3.1% barbatum
    3.1% sukhakulii

As a paph lover I have to say...just beautiful! I really like the barbatum influence in the flower, barbatum being my favourite paph. I have one in bud at the moment and will post photo as soon as it opens. It won a couple of awards and hopefully this year it will grace us with another beautiful flower,
Well done in flowering this gorgeous orchid.
    Cheers

Very nice. You might want to be careful with the watering as it looks to be a bit over-potted. Cheers!
