    Unhappy Really bad paph day

All of my paphs are doing so very well. Except my Chiu Hua Dancer, I just found the top leaf turning black at the bottom! I feel like crying. I have been trying so very hard not to overwater, not to underwater. Not to give too much light, not too little light. Pooh!!!!! I did a peroxide treatment. Should I cut the leaf? Is there any hope that this growth will ever flower? Is there hope that it will produce another growth. I am heartbroken. Any and all help is very appreciated.

Of course I forgot to take a better before pic. Here is the base of the leaf that was topmost on the plant. I gave it one good tug and it came right off:

And here is the finished product:

I did peroxide on it last night. After I finished repotting, I gently opened the base of the now topmost leaf and sprinkled cinnamon in it to help dry up where the rot had been. It has also been moved to the top of the tv the kids watch which is infront of a south facing window. The plant is up high enough that it doesn't get direct sun. And that tv is on a good portion of the day so it is a warm area. What do you all think?

The roots don't look bad. The medium looks old, did you re-pot when you first received the plant? I was hoping to see the crown. This plant will only bloom now if it puts out new growth, if the center has turn black. This is a very slow growing plant. I've killed my share of paph. already. Good Luck,Rich

I'm a slow typer, I see the newer post. sorry

I don't know anything about paphs, but I am certainly sorry to see you having trouble with this orchid. I hope it will survive, put out new growths and bloom!

    Good luck--

I personally do not have any paphs, so don't know about them. Hope the orchid makes it, though...Hang in there Jonada! Betty :-(
