    Default Light for a Paph?

I would love to have one of these kind of orchids. Everything I am reading says "low light". Does that mean I can put it on a coffee table and it will do well? I have a bay window where I have three orchids; Sharry Baby, and two phals; a Smithsonian Rare Treasure and the other I don't know what it is. The coffee table is about eight feet or so away from the light. Will this do?

    Many thanks,

    Trish

From what I've known and what works for me is that most Paphs do well in the same types of conditions as Phals. This may not be a blanket rule for all Paphs but the ones I have seem to be doing well.

Most paph will grow under phal light but the strap leaves paphs like a bit more light than the mottled ones. It wont hurt to try, i have 3 paphs growing on my coffee table and they seem to get more than enough light. The table is about 5-6ft. Away from an east and south window

Check out the links on the RVO Orchid Care pages for light, temperature, humidity, etc... growing recommendations.
