I would like to increase me phalaenopsis collection. Can anyone give me the name of one that they really enjoy? Yeasr ago I had a wonderful little phal
that was pink/lav and smelled so wonderful and also keikied freely. The cross was : 'Leudemanniana-'Best' x Violacea . I wish I could find
something like that again. Unfortunately I do not even have a photo of this one.
Any ideas? thanks. My heart would skip a beat if I could find that plant again.

The registered name of the hybrid you had is Phal. Luedde-violacea. You may be able to still find it around. Other than that, any hybrid with violacea is likely to be fragrant. Lueddemanniana is also fragrant. I have the ochracea form in bloom right now and it has the most wonderful jasmine-like fragrance. If you like smaller flowers, Phal. Equalacea (equestris X violacea) is often fragrant. I have one that has a rose-like fragrance and blooms constantly thanks to the equestris influence.

An orchid grower once analyzed the cross too and told me that it is hard to know which
violacea the hybridizer used to make the cross and so on. The petals if I remember were
not real pointed and also the flower was not really tiny nor certainly large. Their may have
been some slight striation on the petals too probably from Lueddemaniana influence. It
would waft and seemed rose like to me? Right now I don't have a single phal that has
fragrance and I do miss those qualities where you can find them.

There are some online venders who carry Phal lueddemaniana and Phal violacea as well as crosses thereof. Some online searching should turn something up. If you like, pm me and I'll give you some places to start your search.
