    Default wrinkled leaves help needed

I have a phalaenopsis that has a flower spike but also has some wrinkly leaves, I saved it before when there was a lovely bloom but I had put it outside and it got burnt leaves (learned very quickly though) i repotted it and was glad to see it spiking again but those leaves bother me any suggestions would be appreciated, Thank you.

Are the roots healthy? Is there a new, healthly, normal leaf growing in the middle?

Hi leafmite, yes the roots are healthy and there are two new leaves in the middle along with a flower spike which is about six inches long. I had to cut off two leaves at the bottom that had gotten yellow and I put cinammon on the cut areas. Thanks for your reply.

Wrinkling of leaves is usually caused when more water is being lost than the roots can draw into the plant. How is your humidity?

thank you for your response leafmite, I took it out of the pot this morning(could not stand to see it like that) I saw a few roots dried so I cut them off they were not really doing anything, I also noticed a few new healthy roots along with some little knobs that seem to be roots too. I repotted it into a slightly smaller pot and watered it with a weak orchid food, just have to wait and see the results now, I have it at the back of my home on the step out of the sun.

It sounds as though it is on the road to recovery! New roots are always a great sign! Good luck!

Hello Leafmite, I have some good and bad news about the above phal. It did flower but unfortunately two of the buds dried up, so I was feeling so sad to see that I took it out of the above pot and noted that there are some nice roots but small and then one nice plump green one, I put it into a pot with spagnum and low and behold the other flower has opened and thought not so large it is encouraging, here is a picture of the plant.Name: CIMG0356a.jpg

just wanted to share that my lone flower in my repotted phal is stronger than ever so far and I just keep monitoring it checking to see what roots will appear from the plant through the moss.

I am posting a later shot of the phal that was looking so down and out and I guess with love anything is possible, but do you think that is a bud at the end of the spike too? though it may be smaller than it originally was when I got itName: CIMG0368 a.jpg

Size: 74.4 KB I am pleased. I also posted a picture of another one that is called the Sogo Washington X-Taida Pearl at least that is what the tag said so I googled my life away looking and it really is that so enjoy and later when it is fully opened I will proudly post the whole spike in bloom, I am tempted to see if I can hand pollinate it using the other flower, any thoughts on that one folks???
