    Phals can take MUCH more light than one would expect if properly acclimated. Look at that puppy--she's one lumen away from sun scorch and still happy!

    I think it is because she gets the morning sun but she stays small except for the blooms. I have another out back that gets pretty much all shade, small as well but right now has huge lavender blooms. Usually they both drop their buds because of cold weather but this year they survived swimmingly.

    lol. i thought im lazy i still have our christmas tree standing in our living room. then i saw the lights around the tree. :-)
