Thumbs up I just couldn't resist buying this Phal

I was at a small shop close to my house and they had this nice White Phal, of course without a label so I just couldn't resist buying it especially with the good price they gave me after I convinced them that since all the blooms were open the flowers won't last for a very long time!

Anyways, what attracted me the most was the extensive root system as you can see inside the transparent plastic pot and all those areial roots! Just incredible. And to top it off it has a new leaf starting to grow.

I should probablly find a bigger pot for repotting. I just hope that the areial roots dont dry up. I just keep on misting them.

Thanks for looking guys

Talking hi fadi

it is looks lovely
dont mist too much
maybe-and just because you live in a dry place
put the pot in a plate full of toof stones with water - so the pot will be on the toof but not in the water at all-this helps to kip the humidity around the orchid all the time - and than 2-3 times a day u can mist
enjoy your new orchid-it is a beutifull rooting systeam

I don't think I could have past that one up either. It's a beauty!
Good luck with the ariel roots, misting will certainly help but be careful not to get the media to wet......

Thanks guys. I actually have humidifier in my grow area so I maintain a humidity between 45-52%. With that said, this Phal is isolated for the moment as a precaution. I will move it to my grow area in a couple of weeks hopefully.

It is lovely...I have learned to resist these type of purchases. When I first started with orchids I would but back then there were very few without tags. These days the # of these coming out of Taiwan is amazing.

Wow, I would have bought that one too, for a good price!! White phals like that in NYC go for over $100...since all the hotels buy them for the lobbies, it drives up the price like you wouldn't believe. Its gorgeous - white phals are the epitome of captivating.

We could learn a lot from crayons: some are sharp, some are pretty, some are dull, some have weird names, and all are different colors....but they all exist very nicely in the same box. ...Hmmm? .
