We love Orchids - not their names, isn't it?...

I would have to agree that NOID's are near impossible to ID...even if your plant "looks" identical to another, it may not be. I know for some the name is important. After all we communicate with one another through names. I have a phal that I got as a NOID that looks similar to yours. The leaves are mottled like those of Phal schilleriana. About six months later my local garden shop was tossing out a plant that looked "exactly" like my NOID and it had a NAME! Whether the tag is correct or not with people pulling out tags to read them and replacing them in the wrong pot....how knows but the name on this discarded plant was Phal Little Mary Ava. The picture below is of my NOID, but both have identical flowers...are they, in fact, the same plant?????? For me it's the beauty of the flower and the joy of growing and patting ourselves on the back for a job well done

I agree! Most of my phals are NOIDs, and you know what? I love to actually remove the tags so when they bloom, it is a surprise! I don't like to know what it is

Thanks for directing me to this picture Bikerdoc5968... Your phal looks very similar to mine... perhaps a little bit over-saturated?!... Mine are getting a little bit pale now... maybe its the cameras?... Oh and one question here... How long have you been keeping it?... How many blooms?...

Mohi, the pic is several months old...probably taken back in December/January. The spikes have had as many as 8 to 10 flowers and one of them did sport a double spike. As you can see it is a mini currently in a 4" pot. I have had this plant a little longer than a year. I got it at my local garden center just before it was to meet its demise in the dumpster. Currently this is what the plant looks like.
