Default New mini Phal-Can't stop myself from buying new ones:)

I don't know if you guys feel the same way. Even though you have so many Orchids already, you cannot help it and you just have to buy a new one when you pass by a store that sells Orchids!
I think my wife will go crazy soon with all the Orchids we have at our house. I guess I have to get a greenhouse built in my garden pretty soon

Well, I saw this one and it was for such a good price. It is mini with kind of small flowers and it has two spikes and the root system isjust wonderful, and best of all, the price was so cheap.

Of course, it didn't come with a tag, so if you guys have any idea what it is, please let me know

    Thanks!

It is beautiful! AND, I think you have described exactly the way so many of us feel when we see orchids for sale. 'Just one more won't hurt...'

    cheers,

It's lovely! I think it's got Pixie in the name...I have a similar one myself and it's a bloomer! And YES, the word sale and orchid in the same sign has been known to make me do U-Turns! (much to the hubby's dismay) In the beginning it's hard to tame the buying beast. But after awhile you'll start finding you are going for a certain kind more, or you like the shape of a specific grouping a little more than the others and you start trading the things you bought in a hurry for the ones you now are in love with. Tell your spouse/significant other to hang in there. lol Mine started watering the collection when I had surgery awhile back and got so good at it he's now hooked too. Instead of grimacing when five new plants arrived today he got as excited as me. My collection is somewhere around 70 now and I love being able to keep it "small" so I can handle them and fuss over them. A greenhouse sounds like too much work. lol
Welcome to the group...I look forward to all the pretty pic's of your new purchases.

I still have to try to make my wife fall in love with the Orchids too She only likes two of them. She is actually the one who made me addicted to orchids. The first one, a Phal, was a gift from her(my first ever Orchid) and she was excited that it bloomed again this year. She also loves another Phal which she bought for me for Valentine's Day. That one lost most of its roots but is now making six new roots all at once so she keeps on asking about it. I will get her addicted eventually I hope

Be careful, she may want her own orchid collection... heheheh ! That would be awesome--then you could have 2x the orchids!!!

    Cheers,

Do you also tell yourself before entering the store that you're just going to look and not buy any but will have 2 or 3 orchids in hand on your way out?

Awwww, I think I need to go to Orchid Rehab

We actually ususally go to this nice greenhouse every Saturday and take our son, since it's very nice there and the baby really enjoys it then and the greenhouse even has a coffee shop inside. It is really so difficult sometimes to contain myself from buying new Orchids, especially when seeing new ones coming in I usually irst head to the Orchid section! Hey Bruce, I will be so happy if she wants her own collection. Maybe that day will come soon!
