    Default species needing ID

This appears to be an Oncidium. It is a species I collected in the high jungle of Peru. The plant stands about 6" tall the spike is 18" or so. The branching on the spike has a downward sweep.
The flowers are about 2 cm with the segments reflexed.

    Any help would be appreciated...

Interesting shape to the bloom. Good luck with the identification.

My first guess is Oncidium heterodactylum (blue background below)

<--- My second guess is Oncidium Pentadactylon

My plant has a single terminal leaf which leaves both of these as not an option. Thanks for the help...I have checked quite a few but none match. These 2 are the closest.

OK Ron, here I go again with my final guess ... Oncidium Cajamarcae

"Found in Peru at elevations of 2000 to 3000 meters as a small to medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial orchid with ovate, strongly compressed, ancipitous pseudobulb carrying 1 to 2 apical, oblong-lanceolate leaves that blooms on an erect, basal, paniculate, 3' [90 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence with 1 to 3 branches with 5 t o10 flowers on each branch that open successively beginning at the base."

that is a beauty Laurent and is going on my wish list. Unfortunately, doesn't look similar enough...maybe I have a new species on my hands or a natural hybrid.
