coincidentally enough, my seedling just flat out rotted. otherwise I would have packed it up! (I think I will no longer buy seedlings from now on unless I move to the burbs and get a greenhouse)

seedlings can be tough to culture without good humidity. My blue violacea , took me 4 years from small seedling to first bloom. My winter temps could be warmer. Jason, what area of the city are you currently living in? I was down this past weekend. Did the San Genaro feast on Sat, a birthday party for an elderly aunt, at the nursing home across from Brooklyn Hosp and then into Chinatown for an early diner before heading home.

I'm in the murray hill area, near the NYU & Bellevue hospitals. where did you go in chinatown?

humidity (or lack thereof) is the bane of windowsill growers...
