    Default Onc Sweet Sugar 'Emperor'

This oncidium was flashing its color today in the GH. I love how bright the yellow is on this one. We have a few different versions of this oncidium, but I really admire this one.

They are a bit larger, Cin. There are actually several different varieties of Sweet Sugar. I only have this one in bloom now, but for comparison, I also have Onc. Aloha Iwanaga in bloom. Take a look at the difference in bloom size:

First the original one: Onc. Sweet Sugar 'Emperor'

Now, the Onc. Aloha Iwanaga, a similar in shape oncidium that many people group together with sweet sugar and its many look-a-likes.

The first one is 1.25 inches while the second one is .75 of an inch.

I love these happy dancing ladies, and I have a hunch mine will like Florida better than Colorado.

Pretty much. This type of oncidium produces bunches of spikes and blooms at one time on a healthy plant. The smaller ones, when seen in a breeze, look like a swarm of bees spinning around. I think they are cute, but I prefer a paph or cattleya since they grow better for us and (usually) take up less space.
