    Amazing ...relatively big flower as compared to flower stalk. Unlikely Gastrochilus cause the flowers always dense and short, thick flower stalk,..... probably new species..

    thanks guys, i will both check gastrochilus and sophronitis. btw, it came from Nueva Viscaya,Philippines.

    the flower size varies on a single plant. up to an inch in diameter.

    I just checked out gastrochilus and sophronitis, and I think its unlikely either of the two. gastrochilus has short spike , the flowers clump near the plant base, while sophronitis is native to south america and is sympodial.

    It is a Thrixspermum species, possibly T. bromeliforme, described last year by Wally Suarez in the Australian Orchid Review.
