    Default Dtps Black Butterfly

This was one of my VERY first orchids year ago, and I still love it. The petals are really thick and the color is so saturated.

Although I must admit it has turned into a bit of phal-enstein. (Those shelves are 3 1/2 feet tall and the spike is nearly taller. And the pot is 10 inches across.) I had to put it down on the floor just to get a good picture! But, it is hard to complain about overly-enthusiastic orchids.

Beautiful texture, and the color is great.

However, I am not a big fan of spikes that are taller than me

Oooo Oooo....I love those huge monsters! I love the color and the texture...they will be hanging around for awhile. Very good growing there....you may not like the huge tall spike but it is loving the way you grow it! Obviously you are the Phal Master here.....

Thanks all. This is one of my favorite phals--and I can attribute my orchid addiction to this one and a noid phal that never ceases to bloom like crazy. Something special about those first couple that just stick with you.

That's beauty, Sadie. The white edging just makes it an eye popper. Aren't the first ones special??
