Hi, I found up this species very easy to grow in lowland, I used PVC covered by coconut husk and sphagnum moss than I mounted the plant to the PVC using fine wire, hang it under the tree to get natural environment. Basically sumantrana is difficult to flower in lowland myself considered very lucky that this one keep producing flowers bud every 2 to 3 months. In the wild I found this species hanging near the water fall attached very strong to the tree barks or branch. If possible do not use pot. I hope this will help you and do not give up try again. Zain

    Default Phalaenopsis sumantrana

The photos below showed the established P.sumantrana attached on PVC. The center one which always blooming and none on the both sides even they are the same age.

Interesting idea for a mount, Zain. It is strange that the center one blooms for you all the time but that the other two (which look equally healthy) do not.

    Cheers,
    BD
