    Default Onc noid

This is the plant that started my obsession.
I bought it for my mum last Christmas & my interest started
from seeing if i could get it to rebloom.
It was labelled(mis-labelled) Oncidium flexuosum , where as it looks
more like a Gower Ramsey(possibly "Volcano").

    & close up of a single flower(there about 1 1/2")
    .

The yellow is a real deep primrose yellow.

We tend to take these for granted, but look at the size of the lip compared to the rest of the petals. I mean, how awesome is that? I think it's really important to revisit what started us all down this orchid track and "re-see" the plants we've grown used to and maybe even pushed aside for more difficult challenges. Thanks for posting this one....

I have not been growing long enough to get to complacent about yellow Onc,s (yet).
I really love this plant .The buds have taken ages to open but the buds are really attractive to look @.
